These Terms govern your use of this website and its free digits-in-noise listening activity ("the Activity"). By using the site you agree to them.
The Activity estimates a task score for recognising spoken numbers in background noise, under your own earphones, device, surroundings, and attention. It is provided free, for education and personal interest. It is not a medical hearing test, a screening result, a diagnosis, an audiogram, or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for assessment by a qualified audiologist or ENT specialist. Scores are not classified as normal, abnormal, pass, or fail. If you have sudden hearing loss, hearing loss in one ear only, ear pain, discharge, or new dizziness, seek medical care promptly regardless of any score.
The Activity is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
The Activity requires stereo earphones or headphones and a quiet environment; it does not work through phone or laptop speakers. Results depend on your equipment and surroundings, which we cannot verify.
No activity answers, trial information, or score are sent to the research database unless you choose the optional research contribution and press Submit: your responses are processed in your browser and your PDF summary is generated on your own device. After your result you may be offered an optional, clearly labelled research contribution (when the research module is active); if you complete its selections, consent, and submission step, a coded (pseudonymous, not fully anonymous) research record of the activity data is stored as described in the Privacy Policy and Participant Information. If you do not submit, nothing is stored or transmitted.

The site is provided free, "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of an activity score. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
